We believe that human creation is sacred, and that the use of AI powered tools undermines both creativity and the human spirit. We would NEVER use any AI powered tool in our writing, because we are HUMAN ONLY. We support Substack's use of Pangram to identify AI tools used in writing content, because it's OK to use AI to detect AI, and anyone who uses any AI at all is a NON-HUMAN WRITER, and it's JUST BEING HONEST to label them as AI writers for that, since that makes it slop, unlike our HIGH QUALITY HUMAN WRITING. .
It is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT to disclose if a writer is using even 1% AI assistance in their writing, and there are no good exceptions for this. You should ALWAYS let your readers know if you are using an AI powered tool in your writing. Because we are definitely 100% consistent in our moral standing, and not at all hypocrites, we pledge to NEVER use AI powered tools in our writing, including all tools in the list below:
Every one of the tools listed above either uses or offers AI powered writing services. If you truly think that any usage of AI in writing at all deserves to be flagged, then every squiggly red line and "did you mean" and "suggested change" that you incorporate in your work also deserves to be flagged and disclosed. If, however, you are an actual reasonable human being who thinks "Slop" is a quality judgment, not an indictment of the tools used to create it, then the list above should help make clear how ridiculous the claims of AI detection supporters are.
